Summary: Parasites have an interesting variety of ways to make themselves known. Some cause illness, some result in blisters...and some just make big f*cking spikes jut out of your body.

History: No one knows where this awful mold-like parasite came from. All we know it that it was last seen having taken over whatever creatures go near a gas station. Anyone infected with the parasite gets covered in splinter-like black spikes, and whether they die first or not, they get turned into its personal puppets. Be careful what you touch...

Notable Kills: Any of them. Infection has never been so awful to behold.

Final Fate: After a long and death-filled night, the last thing the parasite infects, an arm, is blown up alongside the last person infected. However, it is later shown that the woods nearby are home to several other corpses full of splinters...

Powers/Abilities: Anyone who even nicks themselves on one of the spikes gets infected, and the parasite will take control to both feed and move. It will break bones if it has to be more mobile. It can even infect non-living organic objects.

Weakness: It cannot see anything with low body heat, and can be taken out by conventional means.

Scariness Factor: 4.5-You can’t fight it head-on without being infected. You will die slowly and painfully when it gets into your body. And whatever may move will be covered in demonic spikes and repeat the cycle all over again. Such a bad way to go.

Trivia: -This parasite is pretty much an EVEN MORE twisted version of the cordyceps fungus, which causes its hosts to sprout long stems from their bodies after it's done eating their brains and controlling them. Thankfully, it only infects arthropods.
